Who doesn’t like birds? (Well, perhaps in a moment when one happens to make a deposit smack dab in the middle of our vehicle’s windshield, but hey, that’s quickly remedied.)
For all my bird-loving friends, it made sense to dedicate a page to avians I photograph because, well, there they are! They’re beautiful, the light is good, I’m here, so why not?
Bird photography is one of the most popular wildlife subjects people grab a camera to shoot, and one of the most difficult wildlife subjects to master. I can count on one hand how many I’ve sold over the years, but then that has never been a primary objective in shooting birds either. It’s challenging and a great teacher of the limitations of camera gear and photographic technique. It’s a lot like learning to play an intrument, practice, practice, practice.
If you’re reading this and are curious to know more about the way I go about it, or want to share your own experiences with bird photography and/or wildlife in general, chime in on the forum.
